Three Thrifted Fall Styles + Shopping Tips

Thrifted fall styles: I challenged myself to style three outfits for fall with only thrifted pieces! Did I do it? Almost! These three looks are all thrifted (except a few things I’ll mention) and in-style for the fall season!

Secondhand pieces don’t have to be outdated or worn out. The key when shopping secondhand is to look for basics that won’t go out of style. Some things are always a fall trend, like plaid skirts and cardigans!

Shopping Tips

Here are my top tips for thrifting if you are new and shopping to resell or for yourself:โฃโฃ

  • Shop any freestanding rolling racks or carts first! These are new items just being put out. โฃโฃ
  • Goodwill: Notice the color of the tags on these new racks so you can easily spot the new items mixed in with old.
  • If you visit the same Goodwill often (like several times a week) keep in mind the new color tags. Don’t waste time going through what you’ve already seen!โฃโฃ
  • Peep EVERY section. From employee mistakes to the customer put backs, goodies are everywhere.โฃโฃ

Another tip for my fellow resellers: take a day to thrift just for yourself! Usually, I’m thrifting and my mind is in reseller mode so I overlook a lot of great stuff. When I’m buying for myself I don’t care much about the brand, and WOW that really opens up the doors.

A few brands I love for myself that I don’t pick up to resell:

  • Talbots (almost always great quality and classic styles)
  • LOFT
  • A New Day/Target
  • TJMaxx brands (those random junior ones)
  • H&M
  • Old Navy
  • GAP

There are so many quality brands out there that just don’t resell well, but are perfect for your own closet. What brands do you like? Tell me in the comments!

Let’s dive into the three thrifted fall styles that I found at Goodwill!

Sweater Tank Styled 3 Ways for Summer

I’m back with another “Styled 3 Ways” and this time it’s a classic sweater tank in a fun mustard color!

Solid basics like this J. Crew Factory sweater tank are a perfect wardrobe staple. For these looks, I took one tank and styled it 3 ways that are easy for summer and comfy for working from home! Sweater tanks give you a little depth and texture to your layers and I always see them at the thrift. I love a good pattern mixed in, but don’t be afraid to rock a solid only look!

Recently I purged 80% of my personal closet and it felt so good! I decided to rework my wardrobe for what fits my current lifestyle with basic pieces I can mix and match. When you are doing this a good place to start is to choose a color palette! Pick a few colors you love so when you are out shopping you can easily coordinate your buys. Of course, you don’t have to stick to your palette, but it will help you make quick outfits!

See my 3 styled looks with a sweater tank below and don’t forget to tell me your favorite in the comments!

Posh Boss Bleached Tee Styled 3 Ways

Tie-dye is the color of quarantine, but have you seen the Posh Boss bleached tee from @thecolorblush_? I was gushing over these tees and Stephanie was kind enough to gift one to me! So, how do you style a bleached tee?

To be honest, I feel like one of those cool kids that rock band tees, but I don’t have to pretend I listen to the band. Because this tee is a little edgier than what I usually wear, I styled it three ways with my go-to’s- blush, leopard & denim.

Shop the Posh Boss bleached tees in Stephanie’s Poshmark closet!
