Today I revamped the classic Dalgona recipe with Torani Puremade Black Sugar Syrup for a rich summer drink. Remember Dalgona whipped coffee? How could you forget this sweet treat!
Torani Puremade Black Sugar Syrup reminds me of an ultra-rich brown sugar with molasses and caramel notes. As always Torani Puremade Syrups have no artificial flavors, preservatives, or colors. You can buy the yummy syrup here!

Dalgona Whipped Coffee

If you didn’t participate in the 2020 trend, Dalgona coffee is made with equal parts instant coffee, granulated sugar, and boiling water. Served over ice, it’s a fun and SWEET coffee.
Normally, the Dalgona coffee will get to the consistency of whipped cream if done correctly. However, I have found I actually don’t like it that thick as it is harder to mix in with your milk!

With that in mind, I knew I would love the Black Sugar Dalgona Iced Coffee because it is much thinner. Since I am using Torani Puremade Black Sugar Syrup in the mixture instead of pure granulated sure, the coffee does not whip up as much as the traditional recipe. You still get foam and the same great taste!
Black Sugar Dalgona Iced Coffee

This recipe is super simple but can be a little finicky.
To start you want to combine the dry instant espresso granules with the sugar and syrup. For the boiling water, I like to put about a cup in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it until boiling.
Once boiling, start the mixer on low and add the water one tablespoon at a time. Turn your mixer on high.
Remember, you might not get that thick whip, but should see it start to foam. When you do, turn off the mixer and pour over your milk and ice. Take a cute picture and stir your Black Sugar Dalgona coffee! If you find the taste too strong or sweet, just add more milk.
Enjoy!
